There are new characters, too, and everyone has something special to offer the story whether it's a familiar face, a new chum, or even an NPC. As someone who has been enjoying this series since Trails in the Sky released on PSP and even played the Gagharv trilogy, I must say that seeing all of these characters made me incredibly happy, especially because they're still growing so whether you're watching new bonds form or laughing at one of the sillier moments, it'll feel like you're reuniting with a large group of friends. ![]() What exactly is The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie? It tells the story of an enormous cast of characters that have been around for decades starting from Trails in the Sky and going all the way to the Trails of Cold Steel quadrilogy. Thankfully, The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie digs its heels in and compromises none of these things and the resulting formula is one that'll blow you away. I also want to comment on the fact that many series desperately try to appeal to the masses with each new installment whether that be through dumbing down the level of challenge, creating a spectacle-filled experience that feels like it belongs in a theater, or avoiding any niche quirkiness in fear that the audience just wouldn't get it. So, if you're new to the series then I highly recommend playing the previous Trails games before diving into this.
